Canada Postal Strike
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers are in a position to take legal job action as of Wednesday, September 26. While it is unknown whether a strike will occur, here is what you need to know regarding mailings from BlueShore and our credit card partner, Collabria.
BlueShore Financial Statements
September Personal statements will have been mailed before the strike occurs. Business statements, which are normally mailed at the beginning of each month may get delayed by the strike. All clients can access their statements at any time through Online Banking. During a postal strike, clients may request a print-out of their statement at their branch at no charge. You can also call our Solution Centre at 604.982.8000 if you wish to have it mailed to you.
Collabria Mastercard account information and statements are always available through MyCardInfo or by calling Card Services at 1.855.341.4643. The mailing of paper statements, new and replacement cards and any other mailings may experience delays. Cardholders can continue to make payments through BlueShore Online Banking, MyCardInfo or in person at BlueShore Financial.
Please remember that you will be expected to pay any bills by the due date during a postal disruption. You can do this either through Online Banking, through the vendor’s bill payment system, or in person at your financial institution or the vendor.
In anticipation of the strike, some Receiver General Canada cheques such as Canada Child Benefit, Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security and the Goods and Services Tax Credit are being delivered earlier than normal. We will accept these cheques even if the date of the cheque is ahead of the deposit date.
Opt out of paper
If you receive paper statements in the mail and pay bills by mail as well, now is a good time to consider adopting online services. E-Statements and online bill payments are available for many businesses, and it’s good for the environment as well. Learn more about BlueShore’s e-Statements.
