Director Nominations

Nominations for the 2018 Board of Directors closed on November 16, 2017 at 5:00pm.

BlueShore Financial is currently seeking nominations of qualified candidates for the Board of Directors.

The role of a director

The role of a director of a financial institution in today's environment is demanding, complex and multi-dimensional. Stakeholders (including regulators) expect and demand more from directors than in the past, and consequently the director's role, although very rewarding, is a challenging one.

Directors of BlueShore Financial will be expected to bring to the Board a broad range of knowledge and depth of experience, as well as support the values and focus of the organization. The Board of Directors provides guidance on long-range objectives, determines policy, and monitors the progress of the BlueShore Financial. Day-to-day operations are the responsibility of Management.

Qualifications

Of the nine director positions at BlueShore Financial, there are three vacancies for 2018, each for three-year terms.

Nominees must be members in good standing of BlueShore Financial as at the Close of Nominations. Therefore, nominees for 2018 must hold the requisite number of Class A Membership Shares (25 shares for a regular member; 5 shares for a member over 55 years of age) and not be more than sixty (60) days delinquent in any obligation to the Credit Union as at 5pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

In addition, candidates need to possess a significant part of the "Specific and General Qualifications" as shown in the Nominations and Election Guidelines.

Voting will be conducted by ballot in late March/early April 2018, with the successful candidates announced at the Annual General Meeting on April 18, 2018.
