ATM access and purchases
Your Access/Debit Card offers convenient access to over 5,000 surcharge-free ATMS across Canada on THE EXCHANGE® network or through the ACCULINK® service, as well as over 500,000 Accel® ATMs in the U.S. You can also use it to access your accounts and withdraw funds from ATMs worldwide through the Mastercard® or Cirrus® international networks.
Making purchases with your Access Card couldn’t be easier. The embedded chip allows for highly secure and very convenient point-of-sale purchases at virtually every retailer and many services in Canada. Interac Flash® (tap) technology provides a contactless payment option for even greater convenience for smaller purchases.
Cross-border shopping? You’ll have access to the U.S. Accel® point-of-sale debit network with more than one million participating merchants, including the majority of the top 100 U.S. retailers†. It works the same way as debit card purchases at home and, as an added value, a cash-back option is available at most merchants. So whether you're heading south of the border on vacation or just a quick weekend shopping excursion, look for the Accel® logo at participating retailers. (Please note that Flash® is not available outside of Canada.)

Your online and mobile connection
Your Access Card also provides the Personal Access Number (16-digit Access Card number) that you need to do your banking online, with your mobile phone, or through our automated Telephone Banking system.
Chip technology enhances security
Your Access Card contains a tiny microchip which enables the card to store and process data. It enhances and speeds up security functions like card authentication and PIN verification, safeguarding it from misuse and counterfeiting.
Should your card be used in any way to make unauthorized purchases, you're fully protected – we take full responsibility for all substantiated losses.
Limits apply for your protection
With your Access Card, you have a daily cash limit that applies to both ATM withdrawals and Interac® transactions. If you're unsure of your limit, you can call us at 604.982.8000 or 1.888.713.6728.
