Giving back and pitching in
We're local, and demonstrating strong corporate social responsibility and supporting our communities is part of our organization’s DNA. Whether donating dollars, time or expertise, our organization and our employees are deeply rooted in the communities in which we work and live.
We believe that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is absolutely the right thing to do.
We invest in our local communities through sponsorships and corporate donations, supporting physical health and wellness aligned with an active West Coast lifestyle, and cultural wellness aligned with the passions and interests of our clients and staff. We also support local business through participating in and sponsoring local Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade.
Volunteerism is encouraged here
Leadership and responsibility don't stop at the close of a business day. BlueShore Financial proudly takes a leadership role in all the communities we serve, and our employees spend thousands of hours each year through our Making Waves volunteer program.
We promote and support volunteerism in the following ways:
- Employees who volunteer with eligible organizations receive an annual grant of up to $300 to be donated to one or more charities of their choice.
- Employees who volunteer a minimum of 20 hours in a calendar year are eligible to win a day off with pay.
- BlueShore Financial gives one paid day off a year to employees to volunteer during work hours.
In for the long haul
Community involvement is a long-term commitment supported by our employees, management and Board of Directors. For the last decade we have been a proud member of Imagine, Canada's national program to promote public and corporate giving.
We are also an active member of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR), a national association of businesses working to integrate financial, social and environmental performance into their corporate practices.
We proactively seek worthwhile causes through our Corporate Giving Committee, which includes representatives from the Board of Directors, Executive Management and employees.
