Delegates can help lighten your workload

Lighten your workload by creating delegates for your business account. A delegate is someone you trust within your business to have limited access to Online Banking accounts, such as an accountant, bookkeeper, key employee or family member.

Delegates are created by authorized account signers and can be either “read-only” or “initiators.” Each signer can have up to three delegates.

Read-only Delegates can only view account activity whereas Initiator Delegates can initiate transactions, which must be approved by signers.

Adding delegates

After logging in to Business Online Banking,

  • Select Business Services from the left-hand menu, then click Add/Modify Delegates
  • Click Add Delegate and complete all the required fields
  • Click Submit.

How your delegate logs in

Once you’ve completed these steps, your delegate’s login will be automatically generated and cannot be changed. You’ll see a newly generated Member Number for your delegate that starts with the letter “D”. Keep a note of this number as this will be the code your delegate will use to log in to Business Online Banking. Please note the member number is case sensitive so the “D” must be entered as a capital letter.

You will create a temporary personal access code (PAC) for your delegate; please share this with them securely. They will be prompted to change their PAC when they first log in.

Resetting a delegate’s PAC

If your delegate forgets their PAC, you will need to assign a new one. After logging in,

  • Select Business Services, then Add/Modify Delegates.
  • From the list that appears, click Edit beside your delegate's name, which will give you access to the Edit Delegate Enter a new temporary PAC.

Be sure to deliver the password to your delegate in a secure manner. Your delegate will be prompted to change the temporary password after logging in.

Restoring access for a locked-out delegate

If your delegate is accidentally locked out of Business Online Banking, you can restore their access via the Add/Modify Delegates option.

  • Click Edit beside your locked delegate's name to access the Edit Delegate page
  • Check the Unlock This Account checkbox to restore your delegate's access.

Temporarily removing a delegate's access

  • Should you wish to temporarily remove a delegate’s access, you can do so using the Delegate Manager in Business Online Banking. This is handy for permitting access to accountants that only require access for a few months of the year.
  • Click Edit beside your delegate's name to activate the Edit Delegate
  • Change the delegate's status to Inactive.
  • When you want to restore delegate access, change the status back to Active.

Permanently removing a delegate's access

To remove a user permanently, click on Delete beside the delegate's name in Delegate Manager in Business Online Banking.
