Reporting a detained Access Card

There are many reasons why an ATM may “eat” or capture your Access Card (debit card). These can include mechanical failures such as a technical issue with the machine, an improperly inserted card, or a degraded magnetic strip on the card. Your card could also be retained by the machine if there is suspected fraud or other suspicious activity.

If your card is not returned to you, it will remain safely inside the ATM until it is retrieved by security personnel. However, it will be destroyed, and you will need to contact the Solution Centre at 604.982.8000 (toll-free 1.888.713.6728) or drop by your local branch to have a new card issued to you.

Don’t forget that your new card will need to be set up for Online Banking and your login will change.

In the event you have actually left your card in the ATM slot (as opposed to having it captured), BlueShore staff will retrieve the card, and we will contact you to arrange to have it returned.
