Making changes to your payments

Your registered retirement income fund (RRIF) is your own personal pension plan built from your years of RRSP savings.

When you initially set up your RRIF, your minimum annual payment would have been determined and payments would have been set based on the minimum or an increased amount depending on your instructions. You may however wish to make adjustments to these payments at various times during your retirement depending on your income needs. (For locked-in RRIF plans, please note there is a maximum payment. Contact us for details if this applies to you.)

As long as it is greater than your minimum payment, you can make an adjustment to your annual RRIF withdrawal at any time by contacting your financial advisor, your branch, or the Solution Centre.
